During the 2023 Rugby World Cup set in France, hundreds of children will take to the stadiums to sing the pre-match national anthems, together with the Maîtrise Populaire.

The 2023 Rugby World Cup will impact 7 French regions and will mobilise 9 stadiums. 48 matches will be played. For each pre-match, the aim is to bring together around 500 secondary school pupils and to make them perform the national anthems of the countries playing head-to-head in the competition, scenography and choreography included.

The implementation of this project requires the involvement of the Maîtrise Populaire as soon as of September 2021 if we are to recruit and train the regional choirs.

Since 2018, The Maîtrise Populaire - a multi-disciplinary training offered to pupils aged 8 to 25 from all social backgrounds - has been developing an expertise since acknowledged by the National Education. The Maîtrise has initiated the creation and development of a network of resource-teachers, who have been trained in the Maîtrise Populaire’s methodology, itself based on Dalcroze’s methods.
